We had two "time outs" today. I used to think time outs were totally bogus but I've come to appreciate that the time out is really for me. When something happens and I need to cool off (i.e. - Nathan pushing Hannah in her walker while running at full speed and screeching at the top of his lungs because she touched his toy) it really does the trick. I can take a few breaths and think about how I want to address the situation calmly before I react. I read somewhere once that you can't teach children not to throw temper-tantrums if you have them yourself. Calm Mommy = calm babies.
The best part is that immediately after I put Nathan in time out I tried to hang something in the kitchen and as I turned my hammer caught the edge of the tray of nails and tipped it upside down!!!!!!!!!!! Yea....I'm talking a 400 piece set of nails, screws, L-brackets, thumbtacks, etc. All over my kitchen floor. Grrrr.
Enough of all that - here's some funny stuff:
Last spring I thought I would be super clever and wrap old diaper boxes with cute wrapping paper and have instant toy boxes! I should have known that they wouldn't last long after Christmas.
This is like a seek-and-search picture. Can you count how many pacifiers Princess Hannah needs to sleep?
