Potty Update

I am EXHAUSTED! I never imagined potty training could be so easy and yet so hard. Literally I can just put Nathan on the potty and he goes. By day #3 we had ZERO accidents. Day #4 just one accident. Days #5 and #6 ZERO accidents. Nathan figuring out what to do on the potty....that was the easy part. The hard part is getting the undies (and sometimes pants and socks and shoes!) off and then back on. And then we have to go through the entire ritual of saying "bye bye" to the peepee / poop, flushing it away, slamming the toilet seat lid - it does make a super cool crashing noise after all, washing out the potty, climbing on the chair to reach the sink, Nathan trying to control the faucet and me telling him no, Nathan trying to grab the soap and me telling him no, me turning on the faucet to an appropriate temperature and issuing the appropriate amount of soap, me telling Nathan not to eat the soap, actually washing our hands, drying our hands, climbing down from the chair, exiting the bathroom and replacing the potty. Whew! Nathan is getting better at recognizing his needs and will use sign language to tell me "potty" and "all done". Although his jumping off the potty shrieking with excitement is usually enough to tell me he is done. I still have to watch the clock pretty closely - and we have yet to take on naptime and bedtime - but we seem to have fallen into a grove.
